An Exhibition of Photographic Images of Barbados

The Bajan and Friends Exhibition features the work of Barbadian photographers David Yearwood, Hugh Walker and Rasheed Boodhoo, as well as the British photographers Jon Ranger and Paul Greenwood. It opened on January 10th 2026, at the Queen’s Park Gallery, Barbados.
The exhibition contains photographic images of Barbados and aims to contrast the visions of the photographers who live there and the perspectives of those who visit. What is most compelling is the way that these two visions will occasionally overlap.
It is evident from the work that there is a real love of the island and the little things that make it unique. While many of the images can be considered ‘traditional’ in the subject matter they are seeking to portray (Bus Stops, Chattel Houses, Landscapes and Seascapes), there is a level of artistic handling that elevates them above the traditional. From the framing to the composition to the subject matter, each piece exhibits a level of care and detail that reinforces the fact that photography is one of the key arts. With a well-attended opening reception, photographer David Yearwood hopes that they can take the show on the road and is hoping to move the entire display to London in 2027.
